Out of the nine given articles, the warnings written by the Michigan Attorney Generals Office on gang initiation as well as the Tapeworm warning by a Hospital in Guangdong, a province in Southern China. It wasn't immediately obvious which warning article was more credible than the other. When I was in middle school, one of our English topics was understanding techniques to assist in creating a believable story. The fundamentals

Simply because the main characters in these stories or warnings are you and I, our friends and family. We as readers gravitate towards information and advertising directed toward ourselves and our personal lifestyles. In order to get connected to something there has to be feelings or some sense of attachment. The warnings sent out by the Michigan Attorney General’s Office spoke about gang initiation. The first warnings connector was an infant; an infant car seat on the side of the road. Driving by, seeing a car seat you assume but hope no one is inside. Our brains attach easily to this character because as a baby it is young and helpless. The third warning also had a major character connector; a teenage girl by the name of Lauren. On her way to visit a friend, “an unmarked police car pulled up behind her and put his lights on.” I suppose the unmarked police car could be a connector also because I have personally seen a few of those driving around before. Nevertheless, the Lauren character draws people in especially parents because she is a daughter (her parents gave her advice which she took on “never pulling over for an unmarked police car on the side of the road. Words were missing from sentences and some punctuation was off. The characters mentioned had no background information. Being that this is a medical warning, the physicians need some biography. Otherwise, we are merely reading words and names off of a paper. Also, more information regarding the setting is necessary for the same reason we as readers need more information on the mentioned physicians. We don’t have to question the truth or what is factual. The Gang Initiation warnings was easier to swallow because each had something relatable. From character choices, settings, writer personas, as well as sources and details used— being able to fit them to reality was far from a

Anyone can have an outstanding story to tell, but in writing it can only be manipulated into a work of art with the use of narration. Narrating a story from first person has created the most enjoyable stories. “The Norton Sampler had a wonderful selection of narratives that fell under this category. I enjoyed the structure and layout of Thomas Beller’s “Ashen Guy” and most of Mary Bebane’s “The Back of the Bus.” The two essays gave a decent depiction of the event(s) that occurred.…

I have also learned how to distinguish the difference between a personal essay and an argumentative essay with first hand on the two types and how why my grade differed from essay one and two.…

The silhouette figures in the image look distraught, they are running away as fast as they can, as if they were being chased. The way the mom is holding the little girl's arm as if trying to get her to run faster, and the girl trying, but failing to catch up with her mother.
