Nine Avatar Teachers

When grouping avatar teachers into three groups to form the best leadership teams, I used systematic choices when developing my heuristic. I started by looking at the three major data sources: (1) Leadership Qualities and Experience, (2) Beliefs about Reformed Teaching, and (3) Knowledge and Use of CCRS. From the three major data sources, I selected two types of data to assess strengths from each of the three major data sources. I also identified at least one type of data to identify concerns from each of the three major data sources. In Attachment 1, the types of data used to assess strengths and concerns for the nine avatar teachers are included in the table.
While looking at the first major data source, Leadership Qualities and Experiences, under Leadership, I selected leadership traits and work ethic to assess strengths of avatar teachers. I selected leadership traits because leadership traits are characteristics that teachers exhibit, which can increase student learning in the classrooms by creating a collaborative classroom. Also, work ethic is important in that teachers with good or great work ethic model for students what good work habits look like in practice. A teacher

I selected teaching experience as a strength because years of teaching experience is important in that teachers with years of experience can bring to the table tools and strategies that will help in ensuring students are successful. I also selected content knowledge as a way to assess strengths of avatar teachers. Teachers who have the content knowledge will be able to adapt content to meet the students where they are to take them where they need to be. If a teacher has a deep understanding of their content, then he/she will be able to differentiate the lessons to meet the needs of all
