Since I observed the “White” group, I got to see many different students with many different quirks. I was able to watch some students that were bouncing off the walls, and students that were zoning out due to their medicine just kicking in. I was not so much impressed with the behavior of the children, but rather the way the teacher handled the situations. Mrs.Sorey used many different learning strategies that helped engage even the most troublesome child. I loved the creativity of the fresh learning methods she used. Another thing that I observed were how transitions took place in the class. The class was a little rowdy at times, which made transitions a little hectic. To combat this problem, Mrs.Sorey came up with an incentive for the students. She would give them “Sorey Bucks” if well behaved during times of transition. If they were not well behaved, “Sorey Bucks” would be taken away. I liked this method, because it taught the students to be accountable for their own actions, and to be on their best behavior at all times so they can get a
