Civilization in the Nile had begun during the Neolithic Period in the northern Nile. However, the settlers could have done nothing without the Nile River itself. When the Nile River flooded the settlements were provided with new soil. They weren’t exactly advanced in technology but had structures such as pyramids and large boats to transport goods up and down the Nile. They also had a very basic unit of social structure. There were Kings, Kings Men, merchants, farmers, and slaves. The Indus Valley River Civilization had a much more complex stratified social structure
