Nikushimi: A Successful Sacrifice

The ominous skies enclosed on the castle as thunder crepitated and lighting sparked. Within the enigmatic castle lied blood-filled dungeons, weapons of mass destruction, black magic, and sacrificial rituals. The Nikushimi family owned and lived within the castle. No one in the family can leave the castle, however, only one person is permitted to travel outside these walls. If one ignores the mandate of isolation, their fate will be excruciating torment until death. Only my brother, Ureshii Nikushimi, can leave the castle. He is no ordinary person, however, Ureshii is the only successful sacrifice. A sacrifice is an event that determines whether one becomes an angelic/demonic spirit or gets killed. I couldn’t talk because I every time I did, flames would come out and prevent me from speaking properly. “Dakuma is that you?” A voice from the depths asked. I flashed my flames around to detect where the voice came from. Abruptly, a woman risen from the unstable ground a few feet from me. “Eimin?” Dakuma demanded. “Indeed, it is Eimin. I see that you’ve been sealed within this runt.” Eimin avowed. “By the time I’m finished training her, she won’t be a runt anymore.” Dakuma alleged. “Hmph, We’ll see about that. When you are finished with her, I want to thrash her.” Eimin replied as she started to sink back into the ground. “We’ll see about that.” Dakuma added. Eimin grinned right before she sank under completely. “Kanashii, I hope your ready to get trained up. I don’t have any mercy.” Dakuma asked. I moaned to signal that I understood. “Settle into your clothes, then we’ll start the training.” Dakuma intimated. I settled into my clothes, then Dakuma started giving me instructions.
