Recently there was a mass shooting in Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida were 17 people were killed and about 15 were wounded during the act. This terrorist act was done by a former student, Nikolas Cruz, who was even expelled a year before and had been under FBI watch (Pruet, 2018). With this sort of action it would have been best to give him the death penalty rather than only convicting him of a first degree murder and possibly ignore a death penalty because he was a someone with a troubled past. Cruz killed 17 innocent teenagers then attempted to flee from the police. Rather than being sent to prison for life, he might be excused from that and face less if he decides to plead guilty (Anderson, 2018). One of the
