While working for him, Tesla invented 24 different types of machines for Edison. Before Tesla did anything for Edison, Edison made a promise that he would gladly pay Nikola $50,000 if he would improve the D.C. dynamo. After Tesla did so, Thomas Edison stated “Tesla, you don’t understand our american humor” and did not pay him, Tesla then quit working for him. Soon after this Tesla made the decision to sell his patents to a man by the name of George Westinghouse for the price of $25,000. After this occurred, in 1890, Nikola discovered wireless power. In the same year he also took the first x-ray pictures as well as neon lights/lighting. Around this time as well, Nikola Tesla, became an official citizen of the United States of America at the age of 35.
