Initially, Nikola Tesla invented the coil with the intention to use it for wireless transmission of electricity, however, due to its impracticality, most investors refused to keep supporting any further work. This did not mean the Tesla coil went to waste. In fact, the Tesla coil was used for a great part in radio transmission even so that we still use this technique till today. Many inventors such as Marconi, took credit for inventing the radio, but were never given true recognition because Tesla had come up with the idea first.
Tesla can also be credited with the invention of light distribution.
