I've always been intrigued by the Tesla coil at Fry's Electronics, a number of bright bolts just flying rampant. Nikola Tesla has delivered a number of contributions that is still used today. The majority of electric power today has been derived from Nikola. He changed the efficiency of electric current, discovered transmitting and receiving radio signals, created first RC boat, and his most popular invention the Tesla coil. Arriving in the US in 1884 at age 28, Nikola had always has the passion to advance the electrical engineering. Later the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Tesla had priority but the public already believed Marconi to be the father of radio. Many other people have taken advantage of Tesla. Thomas Edison was the most known and most hated rival of Tesla. Tesla actually worked for Thomas Edison in his early career. Edison granted a million dollars to fix the problems he was having with the DC generators and motors. When Tesla finished fixing the machines and he asked for the money promised, Edison said, “Tesla you don't understand our American humor.” Edison correlated his inventions with how much money it would make so he was more like a publisher whereas Tesla would discover and invent but wouldn't pay enough attention for the patents and the credit it deserved which later affected his financial life when he grew older. The debates between Edison and Tesla were really the most heated, but Tesla actually lost a lot of his other inventions and concepts from many other people. Tesla pitched the idea of radar to the US Navy in 1917 but no one thought it was significant until 1935 when a English scientist named Robert A. Watson-Watt was credited for it. Tesla discovered X-rays but thought they would be dangerous so he discontinued his projects then Wilhelm Rontgen took the credit.
