On a day to day basis new headlining news pops up around our country. From politics to sports, medicine, and crime, we are informed of upcoming news all throughout the day. This assignment has asked for ten current events from the past few months, and their impact on America. From what is described in this paper, our country is filled with crime, controversy, and out of the ordinary situations.
On February 14, 2018 Nikolas Cruz got out of an uber and fired multiple shots killing around 17 at Majory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Nikolas Cruz was expelled from Majory Stoneman Douglas High School due to disciplinary reasons and multiple people were suspicious of his actions throughout high school. Evans was only 23 months old and suffered from a degenerative brain disease and was never going to fully get better. His parents were in a legal battle with the courts in Britain because Evans parents wanted further treatment but the courts and doctors thought there was no hope for Alfie and they lost the battle resulting in Alfie being taken off of life support. The Evans family was shocked by the intense recognition this case received and therefore their life’s were drastically changed. Even though this case was in the United Kingdom, it can relate to the United States because doctors here could have possibly helped Evans due to our advanced technology. Evans could have been transported to an advanced hospital in the United States where our doctors could have given Evans the treatment he may have needed. This may not directly mirror a medical case in the United States, however our country has dealt with multiple cases regarding diseases and cancer and our doctors have often been able to
