Nikki Hamilton Philosophy

Nikki Hamilton’s Philosophy of Education Education is fulfilling of curiosity. I did not come to the realization until I was much older in life and had two children of my own that being a teacher was where I was the happiest. That being a teacher was without a doubt my calling. I like many, on this same path, have been asked: “are you sure you want to do this” or “you know you do not make a lot of money”. I personally respond the same way every time, “it is best to do what you love and is your calling, then to do something you hate because you get paid more.” I feel like an education is one of the most important things in this thing we call life. Education should not only consist of lecture, textbooks, to do list, and test. Educations should consist of exploring, playing, and experimenting. Teachers role in this is to be a guide to lead their students down a path to where they will never be afraid to dig for that answers to their questions. A student will get more out of their education is the teachers gives that students the tools to think for themselves. I know it is a major challenging to allow your students to explore and fulfill their curiosity with the requirements that teachers have on them. However, I will strive to allow my student to still explore and think outside of the box all while achieving that requirements. I completely believe a child is born with a sense of curiosity and they learn best through that curiosity. A teacher should encourage that curiosity and imagination or they could cause a student to shut down completely. A negative teacher could also cause a student to loss interest in learning and change a student’s attitude toward learning and an education. I refuse to be that negative teacher, I will be that teacher that demonstrates a love for learning, a love for critical thinking, and exploration. Remember, you do not want to be that negative impart instructor, you always have to strive to be that positive impact
