Nike's Vertical Management Style

Nike uses a vertical management style, appointing chiefs heads and managers to each functional area. Nike has a vertical communication mix where horizontal communication is sometimes used mainly between marketing and operations. Internal recruitment occurs on the higher levels of the organization usually to ascend those who are doing well or when someone has been fired from their job. Internal recruitment usually happens in the lowest level of the organization such as the hiring of cashiers at the retail outlets. But it can also happen when big projects are happening and Nike required more employees or more experience. Both types of recruitment depend on the job description and specification.
