Nike conveys their tone as if they are women that are cocky about sports mainly versus men. When the ad says “Give the guys something to chase” it gives a message to the audience that translates into “Women are better than men”. When they release this message, it draws the attention of people who actually believe in it.
Many websites show that Nike is falling behind on women's and girls sales. Forbes said that Nike's women sales had grown by 12% or $5 billion since the release of the “Men vs Women” campaign. Fortune.com said that the sales could grow 2 billion from just 2016 to 2017. The point is that they are promoting biased advertising is to get women “on their side” or to buy their products more.
