King Liam said to himself “ I don’t want my angel to grow up anymore on a battlefield.” So the day after he set his mind after sailing to the Kingdom of Nightfrost on the other side of the world to settle the world to make peace. The only problem was that Nightfrost people are born warriors and will not surrender easy so King Liam had to go to the heart and most dangerous part of the country (the castle) and ask for mercy which is not easy for Nightfrost to do in any case. Last year the Crestview FCCLA chapter envisioned a new project. It was a project that seemed appropriate for an organization called Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America; however, I wasn’t thrilled. Mrs. Sawmiller, the FCCLA advisor, devised a plan that acted as a fundraiser, as well as a service opportunity, called Polar Express Night, a one-night babysitting service inspired by the movie, The Polar Express. It was to be a magical evening full of crafts, snacks, pajamas, and Christmas spirit; which I was excited for. My excitement soon subsided; however, upon realizing I was about to spend my Saturday night dealing with sticky, snotty, crying six-year-olds.…

‘Frozen,’ All About Olaf A funny, innocent snowman that seems to be just a funny secondary character steals the show in Disney’s “Frozen.” Olaf the snowman is much more than a comic relief character or a sidekick. He is the manifestation of “agape” love, or the unconditional love that should be given to all people. How could a snowman that comically fantasizes about experiencing summer for the first time be so crucial to a story about love?…

Snowglobe I was practically born on the river with a yellow sun hat flopped over my eyes and ten delicate fingers tucked around straps to keep myself secure, not sure whether to laugh or cry at the waves pounding the front seat of my father’s raft where I played co-pilot. The river has always been a part of my life but several years ago I got to go on my first Grand Canyon river trip. This trip gave me a new perspective of the world. There was an excitement that surrounded a Grand trip different from any ordinary river trip. Whether it was the mystery of a trip that young children weren’t allowed to go on, the feeling of seniority over my peers because I was finally old enough and skilled enough to go, or the anticipation of whitewater that exaggerated stories had been told about year after year, the Grand was something special, even before I went.…

When the northern lights come out, it sometimes appears as if the sky is on fire. There is an eerie connection between the Sun and our planet’s atmosphere that can sometimes cause the sky to unexpectedly glow with shades of red, yellow, purple and green; an atmospheric phenomenon called the northern lights or Aurora Borealis. The Sun is constantly spraying the solar system with millions of tons of charged particles each minute. The stream of charged particles from the Sun, or solar wind, consists mostly of electrons and protons. Sometimes the Sun is very energetic and violently ejects the particles in a solar flare or coronal mass ejection (CME).…

Preproduction Walt Disney planned to modify Hans Christian Anderson's tales since they started out animating; The Snow Queen had been one too. This individual collaborated having Samuel Goldwyn in 1943 to make a biopic associated with Anderson, which might include animated sequences through many of Anderson's tales - like The Snow Queen.…
