Night is a motif on the novel Night, appearing again and again in the text. One time where its mentioned is when Elie and his family were going to be kicked out of the ghetto they were in, “I spent that night going over memories and ideas… unable to fall asleep.” Another section it’s in is the night of their first night at Auschwitz, “Never shall I forget that night, the first night on camp, that turned into one long night…” The last example i have is when they were spending their last night at Buna, “How much longer would our lives be lived from one “last night” to the next?”
