Elie shared how a good friend of his named Moshe was shipped to the border of Poland by Hungarians. Moshe managed to escape a brutal massacre and made his way back to Sighet to warn others of his experience.

The family and others from their village were forced onto cattle cars to proceed onto a dreadful journey. It was a horrific final destination, which they weren't aware of at the time. It was terrible, people died on the way to the concentration camps and were separated apart from their families.
