Throughout the book Elie continuously described his experiences in the Auschwitz camp and he went into extreme detail with every thought and feeling he had. All of the things he talked about would be impossible to forget, especially from a survivor which Elie is, so you know you can trust the source. Although all of the mediums came directly from Elie this one stands out because he goes through everything he experienced little by little and all of the small details. He doesn’t leave anything out at all which shows it has more information in it and the information is explained further. The book was better in this category for a multitude of reasons. One was because it was longer which means there was more explaining to all of the things he said. He went over every thing that happened to him from start to finish and he explained his thoughts and the feelings he had during it all while he was suffering. It helped the reader understand the struggles the Jews faced and what the Germans put them through better than the rest of the teaching styles because he explained everything, not just his feelings like he does in the lecture or not just the different parts to the camp like the interview. He used similes to show comparison as to how he felt at certain times and what it felt like to be treated like that and to see what he saw. Another thing he did was use many different words to give a better meaning to some things so the reader could really tell how much he struggled or how important one thing was to him. In all of the other mediums he did explain himself very well but it wasn’t the same way he did in the book. In the book he made it feel like you were in his shoes, running through the snow, eating the soup, watching his friends get hung, and much more. This helped the reader really understand the situation he was in, and no other medium using this way of writing. High schoolers would also
