What makes a story worth telling? Perhaps it is the characters? Perhaps it is the plot? Perhaps it is the way the writer shapes their words? However, perhaps the greatest reason a story is worth telling is when it is a strong example of human ingenuity and self-expression. Stories with these criteria are unique, powerful, and compel the reader toward new and enlightened ideas. In other words, stories with the most worth are those that shape a person’s understanding and become influential within their life. Two such stories that are examples of influence are Night by Elie Wiesel and Life is Beautiful by Robert Benigni.
