People that live in rural areas heavily rely on the income from agricultural goods (Ani, Biam, & Kantiok, 2014). However, to have profitable income from agriculture, the people need to have good infrastructure. Rural infrastructure is significant to improve the agricultural productivity and income in Nigeria (Anderson & Shimokawa, 2006). The people need improvements in rural infrastructure such as irrigation systems, power grids, schools and roads. According to a data in the CIA’s, The World Factbook, there are little to no expenditures for education. With no education, people in Nigeria are not as knowledgeable in utilizing modern technology to increase agricultural goods and increase profits. There has been inadequate funding by the government in recent years. According to the 2013 Global Corruption Perception Index, published by Transparency International, Nigeria is ranked 143 out of 176 countries with a scoring of 27 percent. The lower the number, the least corrupt the country is with Denmark, Finland and New Zealand being the least corrupt with a scoring of 90 percent. So Nigeria is very corrupt. With a corrupted government, the distribution of wealth is very unbalanced and the people live in poverty. With no funds by the government, infrastructure cannot be improved. No improvements in infrastructure means no increase in educated people in Nigeria. No increase in educated people and improved infrastructure means no increase in agricultural productions and
