Friedrich Nietzsche, a nineteenth century philosopher has given us many ideas. One of his most well known ideas is the "death of God". For someone in the nineteenth century this is ground breaking thought especially since the church has had such a strong hold on how many thought. In this paper I will argue that Friedrich Nietzsche's "death of God" was considered a great idea and the paradigm shift "death of God" caused in the religious, philosophical and cultural worlds. Nietzsche's "death of God" is a great idea opening up man's mind to think. Nietzsche's idea also causes ripples in the religious world causing a paradigm shift of thought. Nietzsche's idea opens up the philosophical and cultural worlds which would eventually lead to the Existentialism movement.
With God's death, Nietzsche wanted man is open his mind to think more freely without restriction. Man no longer needs to follow the crowd and stay weak. We have the will to become great and free thinkers without the restriction of Christian thought and morals.
