“Stress” will pertain to the obstacles that single mothers may encounter while their infant is in the NICU, such as deficient coping skills, sights and sounds of the NICU, lack of social supports, the inability to understand medical terminology, etc. ADD SOMETHING. The single mothers’ “wellbeing” will refer to the social support and supportive systems that allow the mothers to continue performing a care taking role towards themselves and their infant— such as a present family, adequate financial assistance, or access to community resources, including supportive NICU
