Tobacco had a significant impact in America. According to Heather Lehr Wagner, "Native American tribes cultivated tobacco and used it both in ceremonies and for their personal enjoyment" (18). Tobacco was considered to be of importance in Native Americans' society. Tobacco was used in the colonies as another form of currency (Wagner 21).
