High doses of some stimulants repeatedly over a short period of time can lead to hostility or feelings of paranoia in some people. Although amphetamine and methamphetamine are considered to be similar in some ways, when it comes to side effects. they are different. Side effects of amphetamine may include: bladder pain, bloody or cloudy urine, difficult, burning, or painful urination, fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse, frequent urge to urinate, and lower back or side pain. From the perspective psychological side effects of this drug is typically either hallucinations, abnormal behavior, or confusion. Common side effects of nicotine may include dizziness, fast heartbeat, nausea or vomiting, weakness. Side effects of caffeine may include following: feeding intolerance, agitation, black, tarry stools, blood in the stools or urine, bruising, chills, coma, confusion.
As for the more serious and concerning side effects, stimulants may cause increased blood pressure, coma, and death in the most severe cases. Even common stimulants, such as nicotine and caffeine, overdose of them may result in severe damage or death. In fact, there are many reported cases that people, especially teenagers, who overdosed caffeine through energy drink, were hospitalized or died.
