From the pioneering era of 1905-1915, the Nickelodeon has adapted from being a small kinetoscope entertaining the smaller and poorer audiences with peepshows for as little as a nickel, to the gradual introduction of projection for all class audiences later during the era of the Nickelodeon theatres across America and beyond.
The first moving picture machine was called ‘The Edison Kinetoscope’ it was very well known for being a slot machine by showing the pictures being revolved in a dark cabinet chamber.
The Kinetoscope improved drastically over the coming years and was well known for being a ‘Nickelodeon’ as it only cost a nickel to go to watch a small sequence of a short location which later on founded popular nickelodeon theatres throughout
