Sleepers In Basketball

In my last article, we discussed some sleeper point guards for the 2015-16 NBA season, so now it’s time to look at the shooting guard position. Shooting guards are the most difficult players for me to project in fantasy basketball. It’s so hard during the preseason to get a firm grasp on who will be starting and who’s minutes may see a decrease this season. I do in fact have some great sleeper options, though. From Monta Ellis to Zach LaVine, there are are plethora of talented guys to anchor your fantasy rosters this season.

So, here are my favorite sleeper shooting guards for the 2015-16 NBA season:

Monta Ellis, Indiana Pacers

Last year, he shot just 28 percent from three-point range, which is highly unproductive for fantasy purposes. One big question coming into this year is how well he’ll fit into Indiana’s game plan. He should be fine in my opinion and flourish alongside another prominent scorer in Paul George. This offseason I’ve seen Ellis go as low as the 5th Round in mock drafts, he will be a great addition to add to your squad for …show more content…
Last season, he averaged 10.1 points, 3.6 assists and 2.8 rebounds per contest. LaVine was able to start in 40 games for the Wolves and averaged 24.7 minutes per game. In 2014, he shot 84 percent from the charity stripe and really seemed to improve his game as the season progressed. LaVine is going to be a stellar play at the shooting guard spot this year.

The only roadblock for LaVine is whether or not he can beat out Kevin Martin for the starting gig in Minnesota. Even if he doesn’t become the full-time starter with the Wolves, LaVine will be a solid sleeper fantasy option. It’s been said this off-season that he is looking much more muscular and has really improved his shot. With all these factors to think about, I don’t see any reason why not to draft LaVine on your fantasy squads this season.

Strengths: Brandon Ingram is a pretty darn good shooter, perhaps one of the best in the NCAA. Ingram can stretch the floor with his perimeter shooting. His offensive game as a whole is enough to help a team at this moment. He can take defenders off the dribble to get to the rim and with his length it makes him even more dangerous. Speaking of length, Ingram has a wingspan of 7’3 and standing reach of 9’ “1.5” which makes his ability to defend the perimeter look very well and has the potential to be elite.…
