When many leaders rise into power they think about how they will rule and whether it is better to be loved or feared as a leader. It is better for a leader to be loved than to be feared because when you lose in battle or cannot deal with chaos in times of defeat or trouble, your people will turn against you and revolt. As stated on page 1, “A great conqueror, in 13 short years he amassed the largest empire in the entire ancient world....And he did this without the benefit of modern technology and weaponry.” (ushistory.org) This shows that Alexander the Great was very skilled in battle and the way he ruled his large empire allowed him to keep his power.
