Niacin is in animals and plants. Vitamin B3 is in Niacin. Niacin can be found in multiple foods. Niacin can be absorbed in a person’s mouth and can be dissolved in water. Niacin is used for preventing the absence of decrease fats in the person’s body such as cholesterol. Niacin can cause the following side effects: itching, redness, warmth, or a tingly feeling under the skin. It may also cause vomiting, stomach pain, dizziness, diarrhea, and skin irritation. These effects may be intensified from drinking alcohol or hot beverages momentarily after taking niacin. These effects should disappear over time as continually taking the medication. You may feel dizziness from getting up too fast from a sitting or lying position, so you must get up slowly and stabilize yourself to prevent falling. Symptoms include the feeling that something is crawling on the skin, pins, needles and itchiness, or a burning feeling.
