Everyone dreams of being an MLB player or an NFL player but many people don’t think of what their goals are when they are younger and in school. What do you want to happen while you’re in school? Get good grades, be great at a sport, or become more spiritual? My goals are to get straight A’s, get under 13 minutes in cross country and become closer to God. My questions are, how am I going to do that? Will I become a better person in the process of these goals? These are ways I think that I can achieve these goals this school year and become a better person in the process. My first goal that I want to focus on the most is getting straight A’s all year. My record for a cross country meet is 13 minutes and 20 seconds. I want to get 12 minutes because I would be in great shape for basketball and for running cross country in high school. I have to train my body and mind to work hard and to push myself to achieve this. A great way to push myself is to run in my neighborhood in my freetime. The best way to push myself is to work 110% in practice and not goof around with my friends. I can just speed up ahead of them so I don’t have to listen to them talk and I won’t be distracted. Cross country is a hard sport and the only way to get better is to push yourself to the limits. Getting straight A’s, becoming closer to God and getting 12 minutes in cross country will be very hard, but with perseverance and hard work I will be able to achieve these goals. I still dream of becoming an NBA player but first I should set my mind on goals to achieve this year and how I’m going to do that. Who’s going to help me achieve these goals? The answer is my parents, my teachers, and my coach. How can I do this? I will achieve my goals by setting my mind 100% on these tasks. That’s how and what I’m going to do to achieve these

The person I picked to discuss these goals with my friend Brady Shorey, he has been my inspiration in school and has become someone who I really look up to. The main reason I look up to Brady is because he has created a life out of nothing, he has worked incredibly hard for everything he has; leading to him becoming a successful lawyer, Brady had goals and dreams and through his hard work he transformed dreams and aspirations into reality. His general response to my goals was positive, the one suggestion he offered was to start now rather than waiting. He explained this suggestion by stating, “the longer you wait, the easier it’s going to become to put these goals off and forget about them.” He also encouraged me to really push myself, not settling with a lower bar, but really pushing yourself by setting high expectations for yourself.…
