Brain swelling may occur and cause permanent brain damage in the future (Powell). The possibility of the brain rocking and smashing against the skull can and most likely will cause major problems in the future when a hit is taken to the head by an athlete (Powell). Taking this information, if a player would decide to go back to the game, then a procedure must be taken by trainers before returning. A result that may come from going back into a game, is that swelling of the brain after a hit causes some athletes to go into a coma and may not get out of the coma (Powell). The result of that is pretty obvious, death, and nobody wants that to happen. An interesting fact, that should actually have some thought taken to it, is that after receiving a first concussion, an athlete can be 4 times more likely to suffer another one (Traumatic). Any head injury must be taken seriously, so no life-threatening accidents
