Newton's First Law: The Physics Of The Soccer Ball

Improved Essays
When the soccer ball lays down in the middle of the field the object is at rest but when Hugo kicks the ball to juan the object (which is the ball) is at motion with every pass. This demonstrates Newton’s First Law, which states, “An object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force” they make a pass and it is collecting water because it is raining outside and the more water it gets filled up with the more weight and mass/pressure is being put towards the ball think of it as the Toy cart \experiment the more mass it was put on the less it accelerate but with the force it gets from falling down the ramp is like the soccer ball the water is the mass/weight that is being put toward the soccer ball but if you use enough

In this video olympic swimming athlete Bennet Clark demonstrates a race start with the help of his Cal swim team coach and the laws of physics! Clark’s dive can be related back to Newtons 1st law of motion. This law states that “An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and direction, unless acted upon by an unbalanced force” In this video the athlete is at rest when he is first on the starting block. He is being acted upon by normal force between him and the block.…

Touch Football is a high intensity sport that requires specific energy system and muscular group training. It uses several energy systems that require targeted training. In order to train specific fitness components a training program needs to be developed by increasing intensity, frequency, varying type and time of training. To achieve results, the training program needs to focus on the fitness components you are aiming to train. The components that will be trained and tested throughout this program are acceleration and muscular strength and endurance.…

In this lab students would be able to determine the mass of a Pasco Go cart based on the materials were given. In this experiment they were given a set of hooked masses, green cart,a ramp with a pulley, string, a ring stand, protractor and a ruler. With these materials they were able to create a pulley that could determine the weight of the car. The students had found it easier to use less weight to calculate the mass of the green car. The students had to use three different counter weight measurements.…

Baseball has been America’s favorite pastime for nearly 150 years, and though the specifics of the game have evolved, the overarching physics allowing the ever-popular sport to achieve the exciting feel it boasts, has not. How well a baseball is hit depends on four factors: angle of contact, location of contact, bat speed, and pitch speed. By looking into the forces of physics that dictate this well-known sport, I hope to gain a better understanding of how and why hitting a baseball works and how one can elevate their performance with a better understanding of physics. If you were to ask anyone with a basic knowledge of physics what the best angle of contact would be in order to maximize distance of travel, their answer would most likely be…

Baseball is a relatively easy sport to watch. For the average spectator, the pitcher throws the ball towards the batter. The batter swings his bat, and attempts to connect with the ball. Depending on the angle when the ball is hit will determine if the batter hits a home run, line drive, or if he is out. In this paper the physics of what goes into the game of baseball, and how the ball-bat coefficient of restitution can make a real difference on baseball bat performance.…

In the photo, a baseball is being hit by a bat in a game. This photo was taken at a Gonzaga baseball game on campus (I used a profession photo because they are way better and a second photo is used to show the moment of contact which is what I am talking about). In terms of the physics in the photo. The focus of this paper will be on the energy transfer from the bat to the ball, which causes the ball to reverse directions, increase velocity, and create a launch angle to potentially be a homerun.…

Usain bolt is the fastest man in the world using a lot of force to propel him self over the finish line in record times even though his hight isn't the ideal hight to be a sprint he needs to be faster than any of the other athletes. When usain bolt runs he puts a massive amount of force into the ground. With each quick stride he takes he generates a huge amount of force.the ground produces the same amount of force to propel bolt forward. Usain would need more force to propel him forward because he would weight more and is taller than the other athletes he would be racing.…

Importance of energy systems involved in performance: During a soccer game, each energy system is applied with various intensities from low to high that are used. It can be hard to establish which energy system is used most frequently during a game of soccer for a defender. This is because there are many different movements performed with different levels of intensity that change throughout a game of soccer. For example, a defender will usually sprint and then stop, walk, jog and then sprint again in order to get the ball from the opposing team.…
