News Media Fallacies

The fact that current news media is full of fallacies is no secret. In many ways the greatest of these fallacies is the bias and the sensationalism. These slants and biases that are integrated into the media not only slants the coverage but also can present misinformation and gives a murky picture of the nation in its entirety. This, however, can be a tricky subject to pin down and have completely correct views on or to place the blame on certain parties. In a broad spectrum, every party involved is to blame for this and much of this bias is unintentional.
Sensational Inaccuracies
The sordid sensationalism in the media can greatly be attributed to the fact that today we treat the news as entertainment rather than a source of information. Unfortunately, we are far from ideal circumstances when we consume media. Every major news outlet is shuffled into a category of either liberal or conservative and each has their own view of how the world is and how it should be. Even the consumers can place their own bias into a story. These biases can be against one social group to conspiracy theories. In the end only there is one truth to helping to eliminate the baise and the way stories can be slanted, facts and opinions are separate entities that should not be confused.
