This video led to many children getting injured or even dying from the machinery or getting abused. It also proved how irresponsible certain people were during the early 18th century where the Industrial Revolution began because of the lack of adult supervision or care for kids. Historians believe that kids even younger than 14 were forced to work a job that required grown adults. This video started to impact people's daily lifestyles and taught them of what it would be like to live during this period. This video made me very empathetic towards those kids that suffered working and getting abused and having no say in it whatsoever.…

For my final PowerPoint project, the topic I chose is how technology affects a child's social and brain development. This is relevant to Developmental Psychology, because in the last 10 years or so technology has consumed our lives. Also older children who have been using this technology since the age of 1 or 2 how do they interact with other kids their age after always being glued to a tablet. I chose this topic because the video we watched when the semester began stuck with me, children can learn so much at such a young age and I began to think…

Before the 21st century, there was substantial international investment in neonatal and pediatric health care in virtually all countries around the world. At the same time, there was little research on adolescence, as a specific period in time with specific health needs. This level of interest began to change when health and social data revealed that the gains made in neonatal and pediatric health care were being lost during adolescences. Public health researchers and health providers pointed to the lack of adolescent specific health care services designed to bridge the gap between children's health programs and the adult health infrastructure.…

Infants that are born from 34 0/7 through 36 6/7 weeks of gestational age (GA) are termed late preterm infants (LPI). Infants in this category account for a majority of the babies that are born. There are significant health risks associated with late preterm infants, with the most common being respiratory complications. Antenatal corticosteroids (ACS), including Betamethasone, are useful for promoting lung maturation in preterm infants, and have also been shown to reduce the incidence of other neonatal morbidities. Due to the lack of research on ASC on late preterm infants and the implication that the majority of late preterm infants have minimal complications, ACS are primarily given between 24 and 34 weeks gestation.…

The importance of achieving a holistic overview of the skills, perceptions and attitudes of the child is paramount when gaining an understanding of the developmental levels (EE, 2012), thus enabling the pedagogy to plan and provide a stimulating environment within which the individual child can learn. To obtain such information Howe & Davies (2010) concurred by Bradley et al (2011) refer to the Montessori theory highlighting the importance of observing the child in a variety of naturalistic situations, whether it be teacher-directed or child-led to observe consolidation of an ability. Therefore to maximise knowledge and understanding of Thomas’s development by the practitioner, an observational ‘Time sample’ during child-led activities was undertaken to identify the participation, abilities and interest of Thomas. However Mukherji & Albon (2012) warn of the importance of training by the observer, to prevent bias of life experiences influencing perceptive outcome of such…
