The city of Newark does Economic Development differently and they are succeeding. Cities across America try to lift the stigma of poverty and decay in urban blighted areas. By bringing vital businesses and project to their cities, metropolitan areas improve the future, reputation and vitality for years to come. Newark has the largest population in the state of New Jersey and overall ranking of 67th in this nation. It is a major hub for air, rail and shipping. The growth possibilities are endless.

His approach is straigthtforward, informed and deliberate. His plans are clear and not muddled with confusing language or logistics. Since the age of 12 Kevin Seawright has delighted in community service. This is how his community-minded raised him. In Philadelphia his parents taught him to engage and understand people, their misfortunes, lack of opportunity and exposure. He says, "contributions are a direct result of his parents' upbringing and he considers them to be his great role models." He received a bachelor's degree in Rocklands University in accounting and a master's degree from Almeda University in business administration. The University of Notre Dame recognized his completion of their Nonprofit Fund Development Program. He has experience in the public and private sectors of government. Mr. Seawright is part Newark's goals to develop small businesses in this great city. As Vice President of Newark CEDC he is trying to give all residents and businesses access to Wi-Fi while diversing neighborhoods and increasing activity at the shipping yards and railroad lines. Finally it is the goal of this organization to provide summer employment for more than 3,000 youth. The future looks bright and prosperous for this energized city.

Mr. Seawright understands the importance of building and maintaining positives goals in a community. He is successful helping others while maintaining a major role in his daughter's life.
