The organization that I chose to work for is the New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. They are currently ranked #1 in the New York Metropolitan area by the U.S. News and World Report. They have been named “Honor Roll of Americas Best Hospitals.” (nyp.org) They are the nations most comprehensive, dedicated to providing top quality care and compassionate services to all their patients. “New York Presbyterian is consistently recognized as a leader in medical education, groundbreaking research, and innovative patient-centered clinical care.”(nyp.org) This organization has four divisions, and it has the potential room for growth. However, this type of interview is thought to be a two-stage screening process. “Does the organization want this person as an employee, and does he or she want to be their employee?” (Text page 182) I have to apply for the job, determine my organizational fit, learn about the salary and benefits, and of course, present a good image. I would have to review my resume and make any necessary changes according to the initial job post. I would have to prepare my presentation skills by trending the fields. Where I should learn about the organization’s terminology, key figures, typical jobs and assignments in the particular field. I can learn about any of the current trends or issues at that. Details of the company include learning about the company’s history, location, management structure, products, services, stock values, and organizational culture. I can obtain this information “from the internet searches, visits with current or former employees of the company or profession, evaluation from corporate newsletters and other publications in the field, and evaluations from independent sources.” (Text page
