studied the effects of about 100 police officers in a large metropolitan police department who have gone through the progressions of becoming police officers to veterans, and whether they have made any changes since then. Boyce notes that as officers have become more experienced, they typically have gone lax in fitness programs. In other words, as police officers begin to have years on their belt, they are exercising less.
