There are many memorable family trips that I have made throughout my whole life, but the one that stood out to me the most was my trip to New York City also known as The Big Apple. When my mother first told me that we were going, I was ecstatic. The part that made it even better was that our whole family including aunts, uncles, and cousins were also joining us in the amazing vacation. The timing of the vacation could not have been any better. When my mom told us we were going, she said we would be there to see the Thanksgiving Day Parade live. I have always wanted to be there in person. That was one of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving morning, watching the parade with my whole family. We then started to pack and we began our nine hour journey to New York City.
When we finished our car ride, we ended up at the Poconos in Pennsylvania. The Poconos is only an hour outside of New York City. Having a brother and sister that were only six years old, my mother preferred that we stayed outside of New York City. We actually were able to find a side street to watch it. We were in the very front, which was awesome. Even after being pushed into other people and the loudness of the city, I was just happy to be able to witness that in person. People that lived in New York would sit on their balconies many stories up and watch it; some people were even on the roofs of their buildings. The balloons that they use are not actually that big. That was the depressing moment on the trip. From watching it on TV, you would assume that they are huge, but they are not. They are about the size of a normal four door car. Besides that, everything else was amazing. Once the parade ended we were on our next journey to explore
