I was born and raised in Long Island, New York. I have always loved the city in it’s craziest state, and find that everytime I go there, I am still rendered speechless at the sight of the skyline, the business and noise of Broadway and Central Park west contrasted by the relative quiet of Central Park, and the melting pot of people that so casually yet hurriedly stroll throughout their everyday life. For these reasons, I knew I had to go to a school in New York City, but choosing NYU fell upon different lines.
Having parents who own and operate their own businesses, the business world has always been an interest of mine, and what better place to learn the ropes than New York City? I am especially interested in the NYU Stern School of Business.

In the study abroad program offered at NYU for undergraduates, 13 other locations are offered that span around the globe. Perhaps I can study in “the land down under,” or gain a couple hundred pounds studying in Florence, Italy, or even spend some time learning about the Western African trade hub in Accra, Ghana. The locations are limited, but the opportunities within each one are endless.
At NYU I am very interested in the “Two Birds, One Stone” student run club that dedicates its time to feeding the hungry and homeless population in New York City while simultaneously reducing food waste. I have been involved in a non-profit organization called “C the Difference: Cory Cares” created to stock the food pantries across Long Island and feed the hungry for five years now. Over these five years through various efforts we have raised an impressive $60,000.00. We have delivered thousands of pounds of food to eight different food pantries across Long Island. This charity means a lot to me and being so close to home while extending the good deed through NYU, I would be able to connect the generosity from New York City to Long Island.
I am passionate about the NYU culture and education and I hope that you consider me as a student for your

Becoming a nurse was not something I always knew I wanted to do. I knew that I wanted to have a career in the medical field due to the opportunity for innovations in health care and the challenges for improvement. It was not until my mother’s struggle with breast cancer that becoming a nurse became my mission. As a young child at my mom's bedside, I would watch her nurses as they took care of her. To me, they were pillars of compassion, strength, and advocacy that inspired me to pursue nursing.…

Governor’s School Last summer, I attended governor's school west where three hundred and twenty-five bright and open-minded students from all across North Carolina gathered for five and a half weeks in a college campus setting. To me, this was a big milestone in life that changed me for the better. We left our cozy lives of families and friends to start with a clean slate with strangers we’ve never seen in our lives. At first, we thought of it as a sacrifice of our summer to glamorize our college application, but throughout the program we experienced things that exceeded beyond our expectations.…

During my employment at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in Boston I was able to work with a graduate of MCPHS, Kaiming (Kyle) Chiang, MPAS, PA-C. His knowledge and comprehension of his role as well as his eagerness to always do more inspired me. Kyle’s professionalism and confidence led him to be a favorite among several patients; he was able to diagnose with confidence; and was able to communicate with the patients in a way that they would be able to understand. Kyle was always an advocate for MCPHS and as I continued to work with him I was able to see, not only his passion, but the knowledge he gleaned from his time at MCPHS. I knew that MCPHS was not only a school that prepared their students well for the workplace, but also teaches them in a manner where patient education and…
