New Orleans was crime bound at this time at night, people were constantly missing, gunshots constantly heard, but I learned to deal with it. Sirens wailed in the distance, and caught my attention. I was getting deeper into the city, which meant more crimes here. I had my go money ready, but that was for emergencies only. I looked down at my stomach. It was gurgling so loud I thought all of the world could hear it. I looked up to find a skyscraper hotel with big fountains pouring out water. Definitely fancy, with lots of trees and flowers. I decided to walk in and see if I could stay for a night or so. I asked the front desk lady what the rates were. “Well, our lower floors are booked right now. But our penthouses are open for $320 a night, but that includes three full meals.” She implied. I looked down at my pockets and took out the money. I had almost $2,000 with me. “I’ll take it.” I said. She smiled and asked how long I would be staying. I told her one or two nights, two at the most. She gave me my key card for the room and told me to have a good night. I smiled and said thank you, and proceeded to the elevator. My feet were still throbbing and I almost couldn’t bear to move. I was on the highest floor- floor 26 room 2624. I went up the elevator and went to my room. I took a long shower and watched TV. My hair was wet and stuck to my t-shirt, which made it cold and so I got into my bed and turned off the lights, but kept the TV on. I yawned and shut my eyes, feeling drowsy as the night loomed over me.(7)Tired of walking and moving around the city, I finally felt
