These are words that I use very often when teaching my students today.

Etsy 's online marketplace encourages the seller to easily form similar online shopping experiences with what I call a "virtual handshake."

A "virtual handshake" is encouraged by Etsy.

They want the seller to tell their own story with a unique perspective for potential customers. This helps build a brand for you, your business, and your products. This is done by building trust with shoppers while inspiring them to make a purchase with you rather than another seller.

In my hometown storefront business, shoppers could examine products I sold. They could touch, feel, and inspect any aspect of each handmade treasure. When it came time to purchase, their confidence level in me and my product was high. They knew my 100% satisfaction guarantee was all they needed.

So how can you do this online?

Many eager sellers open their Etsy shops quickly each year ready to list their beautifully handmade designs. They are ready to show off and hopefully sell to the world. Unfortunately, they don 't spend as much time as they should setting up their Etsy shop correctly. There are many new sections in Etsy 's interface which encourage the seller to talk about
