Controversial Georgia-based megachurch leader Bishop Eddie Long succumbed to cancer at 63 years old, New Birth Missionary Baptist Church has confirmed in a statement.
Bishop Eddie Long of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church made headlines over the last few months because of his drastic weight loss. While he initially said he had switched to a raw vegan diet, he admitted in September that he was going through an undisclosed “health challenge,” The Christian Post recalls.
In December, Bishop Long told his congregation that he could no longer answer all the questions and messages being sent to him.
