"If I knew who (you are), the hell with everyone else.”, If you know who you are, the hell with everyone else. Since I was in fifth grade, I have been bullied, directly and indirectly. People who indirectly bullied me hurt me more than those who did it directly. Those people were close to me, the closest to close, family. Although people would say family is supposed to have each other’s back and protect each other, I felt as if they were stabbing me in my back. It took me five years to grow out of this mentality of a victim and start living for my expectations and not theirs.

Throughout my sophomore year after previous years of depression and self isolation, I learned that I had to be strong enough to ignore what they said and my overall mood changed drastically. My grades

You win because you’re tougher mentally than the other guy and your thought mentally because your training is superior. If you’re winnin’, never quit. If you’re losin’, never quit. If you’re hurt, never quit.” Never quit, even when someone is trying to break you down. Your mentality is superior than what ever words come from them. This year I have been challenged in my choice of hobby. This challenge continued to break down my mentality, he did not realize how hurt and painful his words were. He never realized that a filter was needed. He did not realize that the person he was talking to was taking everything he said to heart. Ever word cracked the trust, and the respect I had for him. As the year progress and my confidence in my technique and skill deteriorated, I learned that I could not just quit because it would not solve my problem, I had to prove him wrong. I started practicing more, trying new things and I grew more as a person and performer. My skill level increased and I started working harder for approval from him.
