The nursing model I chose to examine for this assignment is Neuman’s system theory. Neuman’s system theory is based on the interaction of the four metaparadigms of the person, environment, health and nursing and well as the interconnection between spirit and mind. The two major components of the model are stress and systematic feedback loops (Butts & Rich, 2018). The nursing goal is to attain stability in the patient’s systems. DeWan & Lowry (2006) “The system comprises five interrelating factors: biological, mental, interactive environmental, social-cultural, developmental and spiritual effects” (p. )

Only people with non-healing wounds seek certified wound care nurses (CWCN). My first step is to look for clues to the etiology of the wound. Next observation of the wound environment and the patient’s life style helps bring to light what barriers exist in healing. Individuals with open wounds tend to feel broke and require emotional support in order resume a normal life. Neuman speaks to lines of defense protecting the person, skin is our physical line of defense which hold in fluids and prevents environment assaults. Imbalance in this line of defense allows for injury such as a wound, burn or
