Transformational leadership style brings motivation and innovation in organizational culture. Whereas transactional leadership style makes leadership more responsive. Employees were rewarded for their performance by salary increase or promotion to their roles in organization. If Employee meets task or goal, he or she will be rewarded. In case an employee failed to meet the task or goal, punishment will be no increase of salary even after many years of service and no change in role. Sometimes termination of employee happens if the organizational goals are not in line with employee achievements.
The Combination of Transformational and transactional management styles are close to Theory of X and Theory of Y where theory X can be compared with Transactional Leadership and Theory Y and Transformational Leadership are similar.
