Netflix is one of the most successful streaming corporations that has entered the streaming industry. The founder of Netflix, Reed Hasting was the original founder of the corporation. Hasting originally launched the company as a DVD rental service that would charge its customers monthly. Fast forward to today Netflix has become one of the most known corporations in the world changing the game by not only eliminating dvd rentals, but making it accessible on the go. They’ve created an online streaming service allowing the company to thrive through unimaginable heights. Netflix continues to be one of the fastest growing corporations today.
The Netflix Corporation like any other, has its fair share of competition.

Investing in a lot of research allows them to develop ideas as they go. These practices have given Netflix the opportunity to thrive even further in the streaming industry. Where it is now recognized as one of the most streamed services in the world. Statistics show that 65% of Netflix users are among the ages 16-24. Which explains the popular phrases such as “Netflix and chill” that a phrase that a lot of the younger generations use today. Being one of longest tenured streaming corporations, Netflix had a headstart on receiving licensinces early on in the industry. Steeping a bit further in the industry Netflix has come up with a great idea of creating its own programming having full rights to production. Netflix has created a lot of its own content releasing shows like Orange is the New Black and House of Cards has giving Netflix that edge in the industry that competitors are having a hard time competing with. The corporation does not do much advertising it has a unique strategy to win over subscribers allowing for the first month to be free for its subscribers. This gives them a chance to experience the streaming service first hand. Word of mouth advertising does sometimes go along way as well. when one person tells another about the service in a creative way like using popular phrases. …show more content…
Netflix’s decision to expand its firm outside of the United States into other countries like the United Kingdom or Australia came at a huge expense. Bringing more problems to the corporation. Such as language barriers and different cultures that Netflix was not used to dealing with. Another weakness that Netflix wasn’t prepared to handle with the technological difficulties in those various country’s that it chose to expand in not every country is as advanced as the United States was. Another problem that came up during the expansion process was the censorship of the content on Netflix. Not everything that Netflix had to offer was acceptable in the region. they did not have the rights to broadcast whatever they wanted to. The huge expense for Netflix to license their firm internationally has come at an even bigger expense, with the competition also tagging along to their ideas this has brought a huge weakened area for Netflix. These issues and the competiveness of the company’s also here in the United States. that Netflix was also dealing with at the same time put a huge toll on the company adding a huge financial expense as
