I have chosen Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad as the business organization that I would analyze in this assignment because Nestlé Group is a vast and very well known organization in the world. The tagline of the organization, “Good Food, Good Life” clearly implies that Nestlé is a people-oriented organization that is committed to understanding its consumers’ needs and delivering the best products to improve the quality of its consumers’ life throughout the world. The assignment will cover the history of Nestlé Group and Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad, highlight the macro environment elements, its relation to the chosen organization, and recommendations to improve the management of these elements in the chosen organization.

The head office of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad is located in Mutiara Damansara, Selangor where it operates from. Apart from that, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad manufactures its products in 7 factories as well as markets over 300 Halal products. Then, on 13 December 1989, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad was publicly listed on the Bursa Malaysia Berhad, which was formerly known as KLSE (Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange). Every business organization and its marketing is affected by external marketing factors. These factors are usually beyond the control of marketers but they do influence the decision making process when a marketing strategy is created. These external factors are known as macro environment factors. They consists of all the forces that shape opportunities, but pose threats to a company as well (“The Macro Environment – Six forces (DESTEP)”, n.d.). A macro environment is the major external conditions or factors that influence an organization’s decision making and explicitly affect its performance and strategies (“What is macro environment?,” 2016).
