The Nervous system has two main parts, the Central nervous system and the Peripheral Nervous system. The Central nervous system consist of the brain and spinal cord. The Peripheral nervous system consist of the nerve fibers that branch off from the spinal cord, theses extend to all parts of the body. This includes the neck, arms, torso, legs and skeletal muscles, and internal organs. The nervous system plays many roles; like everyday activities, simple activities like breathing, and then more complex things such as; thinking, reading, remembering, and feeling emotions. The nervous system regulates many things including; brain growth, sensations, thought and emotions, learning and memory. Movement, balance, coordination, sleep, hunger, digestion, and many more functions. The most important unit of the nervous system is a cell called a Neuron. Human brains consist of about 100 billion neurons. Motor neurons are located in the central nervous system and peripheral ganglia and transmit signals to activate the muscles and glands. There are many specialist that are involved in the nervous system. These include Neurologist, Physiatrists, and Neurosurgeons. Neurologist are doctors that practice medicine in the nervous system. A Physiatrists, is to help rehabilitate their patients who experience disease, disorders, and injuries to the nervous system. Then there is Neurosurgeons which, perform surgeries involving the brain and the spinal cord. Neurologist are the people who…
