Introduction Have you ever had a pet that you loved so much get really sick? Have you ever gotten a new puppy? Have you ever been getting ready to do something really important and you thought you couldn’t do it? Have you ever been somewhere really nice with your family? Have you ever gone on a weekend trip with friends and family? Well I have done at least one of these things in each of my memories and you are going to hear all about them.

Well, that’s what my first ice skating competition was like. First of all I get there and I can’t find my coach so I am practically freaking out. Then to add onto that it is like freezing cold in there, and I am starving. So the delicious smell of different types of food is not helping at all. It all seems to go by really slowly and then it is time to get on the ice. As I am doing my warmup, all I hear is the sound of scraping toe picks on the ice. We get off of our warm up and they announced my name. I skate my program perfectly. Then it seemed like the scores took FOREVER to come. Then the scores go up and…..I got first!! People surround me telling me that I did really good. I see flashes of cameras taking my picture the cold feel of the shiny blue first place medal around my neck and the faint click of the cameras as they snap picture after picture after picture. Well, that’s what I saw when my sister, my mom, my babysitter and I all went on our annual girls trip. We were all standing behind that beautiful background to get a group picture on our last day. You could hear the wood creaking under our weight. There was still a faint smell of the food we had just recently eaten inside. There was a cold wind that froze the tears that fell from my sister's face and from mine, as we took our turns hugging our babysitter. We got back in the car and drove away with the same thought inside of all of our minds. That we can’t wait for the next girls weekend trip.
