In the article “Best Practices for All Students,” by Marrow, Tracet, and Del Nero, the authors discuss how as teachers, we need to be aware of our student’s needs, backgrounds, learning styles, where they should be for their age regarding language and reading development, and so on. In a classroom, we may have about 25 students that we need to modify our instruction to fit. Additionally, with such a young age group, we must put in more effort keep our students engaged. This alone is a lot to think about, thus I would say overwhelming is a good word to describe the feeling I had reading this article.
