I want to be in this mentor program because I want to become a nurse practitioner specifically neonatal or pediatric. What inspired me to first look into the medical field was the encounter I had with nurses and doctors as a child. My mother has lupus and when I was younger she was in out of the hospital. being there you meet all different kind of medical people, but the ones who stood out the most were the nurses. They were always there checking on her making sure she and my family were comfortable. I notice their patience their kindness and drive to help. Being in the nursing field you leave an imprint on people and their family. This what led me to the decision of a nurse practitioner. I always admire people who took care of other. I want
