The National Party, African Congress and the other political groups negotiated the political faults of the African political aspects. The political groups declared a new government in South Africa in the late 1990s. “The apartheid ended in 1994 due to negotiations” (Bove 64). Mandela was victorious in this well-fought out battle. "But in that movement of 1994, in that movement when it seemed that Africa would lead the world in a new way of politics and rule" (Bové 65). The National Party first became the governing party in 1924 for South Africa. Mandela ended the apartheid in 1994.
